70' srl311 question......I believe this firewall mounted relay to have been non OEM for some reason. I don't see it on the wiring schematic nor did it have OEM type screws.I could hear the relay click when the ignition was turned for start......but nothing occurred.
There is also some wanky wiring mods in the second image.
Any thoughts on what these were for? I'm trying to get this car running after sitting for 33 years and removing the gremlins is a start! ;)
The relay was mounted just above the brake bias unit on the firewall.
The wire tampering was just below the clutch master.
Thanks for any guidance.

No more 3rd party hosting unless you pay for it. They can still be seen if they're clicked on, just embedding doesn't work.

The 3 prong relay kinda reminds me of the horn relay. It always has 12V, and gets grounded to actuate.

The harness that you pictured is an old school 4-pin trailer harness. It's possible that this was some attempt at redoing the headlight circuit. Hard to tell.

Hmmm, someone really went all out on messing this wire loom up at that spot for some reason. :? I'll see about removing all of that. The relay clicks when you turn the ignition to 'Start".

Does anyone know the screw size for the weatherstrip metal piece mounted vertically on the A post?

@2mAn
Additionally, the light switch controls fog lights if you turn the knob to the right.
If you intend to run fog/driving lights, suggest you use relay rather than putting more power through the old wiring.

I was reaching down inside the driver's door today and found something loose at the bottom. I see a little metal tab but what is its purpose?

Looks like where the rubber window track stopper goes. I think Dean has them.

You win. Dean's Part number 1920. I was thinking along those lines but was not sure. Thanks.

The loose part is basically a door panel clip that the rubber bump stop slides into. FWIW Pat

I am going to have my doors blasted. Any tips or the steps for disassembly of the door?

Thanks.

Edit: Got it apart. Just started with the vent window frame, then the side window and the guts.
