Greg, it's a kindred spirits kind of thing as I read your response. Maybe you also were surprised at how much of your life's experience is embedded in association with your long ownership. Time kind of slips by, accumulating in a way you don't notice until the proverbial rear view mirror helps you see and appreciate.

For me, it was a sentimental few minutes as I changed the license plates; history had already been in the making, it turned out.

It's a 1976 Datsun 260C... took me a while until I identified it. I did some poking around until I finally found an insurance site that has some pics of the restoration of this car, etc. Very cool car. I've never heard of these before. I also really liked the 1977 4 door version I saw... the interior had some cool stuff, like over head switches etc.

7 year restoration :(
Hoping the Roadster I just purchased doesn't take that long ! (hoping for end of this year)
Whenever I showed people pics of my project most would say "What's that ?".
Hence the inspiration for the numberplate ( and because the department of transport wouldn't let me have "WTF DAT") :D

I have Ca black and yellow DATFUN.
Different car B TUNED, but it seems most people dont get that one?
