Over on the Introductions page, Christine recently mentioned that her first car was a 1200. That reminded me about the 1200 my friend in high school had from his father's Datsun dealership. In that car was the first time I went 90mph, whee !It's a D-A-T-S-U-N wrote:OK, what about license plate frames?
How many of you have "vintage" Datsun dealership license frames?
Or something special or different?
His dealership had nice metal license plate frames "Rippel Motors," but no specific Datsun reference. I've got the frame as a memento but it didn't add anything to the Datsun motif so it's in my artifacts drawer somewhere.
So, the best I can offer among special/different is this key fob. Remarkably, it came with the car I still have, the 1969 1600 that I got in 1984. The seller handed it to me with both sets of original keys and yeup, it was special even then. The dealership is still in business, relocated down the street from the address on here. Maybe I should present car and fob for unadvertised specials in the parts department.
In Kansas any car over 35 years old qualifies as antique. This has the benefit of not requiring re-registration each year and therefore no annual fees after the initial purchase.
