How many of you have "vintage" Datsun dealership license frames?
Or something special or different?
Over on the Introductions page, Christine recently mentioned that her first car was a 1200. That reminded me about the 1200 my friend in high school had from his father's Datsun dealership. In that car was the first time I went 90mph, whee !

His dealership had nice metal license plate frames "Rippel Motors," but no specific Datsun reference. I've got the frame as a memento but it didn't add anything to the Datsun motif so it's in my artifacts drawer somewhere.

So, the best I can offer among special/different is this key fob. Remarkably, it came with the car I still have, the 1969 1600 that I got in 1984. The seller handed it to me with both sets of original keys and yeup, it was special even then. The dealership is still in business, relocated down the street from the address on here. Maybe I should present car and fob for unadvertised specials in the parts department.

I have a Dupriest Datsun (Amarillo TX) tag frame on the 64. If I really want to add a neat touch I have a cardboard temp tag that says Dupriest Datsun on the bottom too
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

Well, I got my new personalized plate today for the '69 2000 I just bought. Guess what the plate says?

DATSFUN !!!!

I thought it up all by myself and was feeling quite pleased about it until I read this discussion for the first time this evening.

At least mine has the word "Antique" at the top. In Kansas any car over 35 years old qualifies as antique. This has the benefit of not requiring re-registration each year and therefore no annual fees after the initial purchase.

Not a roadster, but I saw a very clever one today on an immaculate, original RHD Mini Cooper:

I saw a plate that was just plain wrong. It was on an Audi TT convertible being driven by a rather grumpy looking woman of means. The plate said IS IT IN...

Not Datsun related but I saw an interesting plate today. I must say it's a bit dirty but took some thought. It first caught my eye when I noticed the plate was installed upside down. The plate was installed on a chopper driven by a tough looking dude.

The plate number was: 3WMO78

Do you know how stupid you look standing in front of the computer with your head all twisted around to read the screen upside-down? And the strange look you get from your wife?

Just think of the poor law enforcement officer who has to stand on his head to read the plate number, before he arrests the dude.

Hi There,

This is my first post- greetings from Australia! :smt006

My plates are below........ I figure when I get another one I might go for DISSME ('dis is me) - we only have 6 digits/letters- otherwise I'd go for DATSME2. Not a great pic, but when I started pulling it apart I realised I didn't have a pic of it.

Cool plate, but I LOVE the Avatar! So, does this mean that Lightning McQueen is going to go cruise with old cars again?

Thanks! It was my first crack at it - didn't come up too bad, but at higher res you can see clearly more practice is needed..... and i reckon it'd give Lightning a run for his money...
