You build your motor, suspension and then eliminate ALL extra weight including the sound system.

Why would you want to hear songs when you have the sweet music of a finely tuned motor purring.
Those folks got the right idea.
Don't forget the side windows...at least the mechanism....and use a string...

The race GT350s had that - they used a nylon strap iirc. A postie at the top and bottom and a lift the dot connector worked just fine.

My favorite song is by the Solex Sisters! Nothing beats the sound when they are in harmony! :twisted:

Sounds like time for Mark Dent to chime in about his Moses impersonation. They were doing the old track laps at Watkins Glen one year and everyone put him at the end of the line since he has a 1500. As they were coming down the hill and braking, Mark was yelling "DRUM BRAKES!!" and he said it was like the parting of the Red Sea as Roadsters went to the curbs for him to sail through!

After watching the vid of Michael and Eric tearing up the Oregon foothills, I can't get ZZ Top "beer drinkers and hell raisers" out of my head.

I'm somewhat partial to Elgar's "Pomp & Circumstance" ( the Graduation Tune to most Americans <G>) - especially effective when arriving at a British Car Show with a good sound system.

WHAT? No one has listed this one????
The beginning has the sound of a sports car starting, JUST LIKE my 1600.
http://qsl.net/wa3vjb/Roxy%20Music%20-% ... rug48K.mp3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Love is the Drug - Roxy Music
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And with a "cold" ending (DJ talk, means abrupt rather than a fade out),
there's a natural segue mix to another great driving song:

Driver's Seat - Sniff 'n' The Tears
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pick up your feet
Got to move to the trick of the beat
There is no elite
Just take your place in the driver's seat

------
UPDATE:

Someone drew my attention to the fact Nissan corporate actually did some marketing with a remake of "Driver's Seat" around 1991. Makes the song all the more authentic for a Roadster Road trip, eh ?
