Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

It's summer, where you gonna go? Try this one as you're driving:
"Summertime" by Kenny Chesney
Biggest tour this year, wish I could catch a show

Re: Roadster Driving Songs
Did you all know that in the vintage Porsche circles a very popular mod is doing a "radio delete"?
You build your motor, suspension and then eliminate ALL extra weight including the sound system.
Why would you want to hear songs when you have the sweet music of a finely tuned motor purring.
Those folks got the right idea.
However, if you insist on a weight robbing badass stereo system, this is the only song you need.

Re: Roadster Driving Songs
Ah, you're missing the point Linda
In a small underpowered 1600, anything that reduces weight is a benefit. Despite that lack of power, winding out a 1600 to redline is a glorious sound.
The only purpose for a stereo is to keep you company on long trips. On a spirited drive...........Music off !
Ps. Having had both, a Porsche motor sounds great.

Roman, you understand it! That is why I don't get the whole effort to upgrade the radio. Stock AM or radio delete.

Re: Roadster Driving Songs
May I introduce the concept of the Cruise to all you boy racer types
A cruise is generally casually proceeding down a beautiful country road at 40 to 50 miles per hr , enjoying the scenery, listening to the music. There may be a picnic basket involved. Generally no sounds of squealing tires or the sickening sound of a snapped cam, just the gentle rattle of the door sills, windows, shifter, muffler, folded soft top, to soothe the over amped modern soul.
Though radical to many of you, I submit, don't knock it till you try it
Linda

Re: Roadster Driving Songs
It does not matter whether the noise source is mechanical or electronic, if it broadens your smile its the right tune
Careful with the volume control though!

Boy racer????
Picnic basket??????
Hell on my country roads, you're liable to hit a deer. I need my wits about me and not be soothed by Mozart whilst carrying a picnic basket.

Re: Roadster Driving Songs
Have to go with a few odd ones, but great for driving. The thumb drive for the Roadster has all the stuff I don't normally hear, and was always set to random.
I do agree with the boy racers, the 66 has no radio and except for long stretches of interstate, I don't miss it. I'm putting some sort of player in it, but not a priority, the Ipod and the cheapo Sony speakers are working OK, when we bother to turn it on.
Road Goes on Forever, Robert Earl Keen
1952 Vincent Black Lightning- Richard Thompson
Boom boom- John Lee Hooker
Telegraph road, Dire Straits
I'm Going Home (Live), Ten Years After
Forever, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul
And just for fun
If I had a Boat, Lyle Lovett

Tires don't squeal when you are sideways on a gravel road in the country... Although your co-driver might occasionally. The picnic basket can help smooth it over. Better have a bottle of wine in it.
