Interior and trunk question

Post by DCroadster »

I have not seen any detailed pictures of the stowage area behind the front seats,
This is a picture of the lip at the back wall of the interior where the top is stored. What are the 2 captive nuts in the middle used to retain. Is there a well liner for the top?

2nd question is for the trunk back wall. I removed 3 hooks that were on the trunk side. Is there something snapped in the trunk compartment, or were they supposed to be on the stowage area side.

TIA,
Rob

Attached from Parts Catalog.
I see 2 hooks in stowage area, but are on pass side and middle. I have 3 on pass/middle/driver that were on trunk side. I had not heard of a compartment cove (46,47), just the tonneau (48-57).

Still nothing on what attaches to the nuts

Nissan calls them "hooks" most of us call them "twisties". The "compartment cover" looks like the top boot that goes over the soft top when it is down. My cars have (3) twisties on the interior rear wall for the top boot attachment and 3 snaps by each door opening rear.

As for the nuts, I think they are for a latch used with a hardtop. Just guessing now

Thxs Joe!

Yes 3 twisties on the wall. And 3 snaps on the qtr, 2 on metal and 1 on inner qtr panel.

Decided to replace original interior trim which was toast as well as carpet.

Rob, that is where one of the factory hardtop latches mounted when the car was equipped with the Nissan factory hard top. Maybe someone who has a factory hardtop installed could post a picture of the latch.
