My SRL311 Updates

Post by Frank69 »

I've had this little gem for about a year and a half now, and have put in a fair amount of work. It's now a car I wouldn't hesitate to drive anywhere and I think it looks pretty good too. Updates since I acquired it from a high school friend's estate include: New 15" Panasport wheels and Yokohama Advan Fleva 195/55's, vintage roll bar, new carpet, new electronic distributor, relocated alternator to passenger side and installed new mini-Denso unit, new rear leaf springs, new front comp springs, rebuilt or replaced all front steering and suspension components, new clutch master and slave cylinders, all new stainless brake lines, new fog lights, a bit of wiring (still more needed, of course). It's been a fun project, but I have 4 other classic cars and just acquired a pristine 1971 240Z. Storage space and time may mean I'll be letting this car go in the near future. We'll be enjoying it a lot in the meantime though.

Here's a couple of shots of the Z, too. Owned since new by a bi-coastal investment banker. Full restoration to factory new specs in 2018. Driven only 9k miles since then. It runs and drives like a 5 year old car. One of those once in a lifetime finds.

Looks very nice. Lots of work done for sure. Don't neglect it too much.

Keep and drive them both. Then, take the Roadster up into the mountains or some other scenic/forested area and tell me a convertible doesn't kick butt over a hard top car!
