Low Windshield Lowering Seats

Post by halvernaz »

Hi All,

Looking for some help/advice, I'm a tall driver little over six feet with a short windshield Roadster. Hoping to find some options to get my head below the top of the windshield. What are the options to lower the original seats or are their replacement seats that will sit much lower?

Thanks
Henry

There have been a few people that have mounted their seats fixed to the floor to gain that advantage. You would need to carefully pick the correct location as you will not be able to move the seat and then bolt it directly to your floor.

I think I remember someone cutting tubs in the floor; maybe gaining an inch.
Eric Shaws car maybe.
I’ve thought about doing it, 6’2”, with the og seats, but since I have a high windshield car, I’m going with Miata seats with the cushion carved out a bit.

I've never sat in a LWS roadster. That said, on a HWS roadster, if your arms and inseam are long-ish, you can set the seat mounts back 3 inches or so on the floor, then dial back the seat rake to max angle, and gain considerable sight line.
