Help me pls
By sliding into a wall, I bent my left axle. I believe I only need to replace that side, but I'd like to know which years are compatible. I looked around but couldn't find anything that addressed this. I investigated parts websites and they all carry the same bearings for all years, so I'm assuming an axle from any year 1600/2000 should work? 1970 1600 is what I have. Thanks

Re: Help me pls
When I have questions like this I check out the online parts manuals on this site, they are a big help. Now, to address your question. I think all 1600s & 2L axles are the same but a quick check of the parts manual will verify it!

I would recommend contacting Ross mullen at sports imports in canada... he will know and have what you need.

The housings bend / bow somewhat easily , once you pull the Axle looking into it see if the side gear splines are centered

Re: Help me pls
Hector, 1600 & 2000 roadsters use pretty much the exact same rear axle. The difference is 1600’s have 3:90 gear ratio and 2000’s have 3:70 gear ratio. Also many early 1600’s have steel brake drums and no torque rod mount. So any 67.5 on rear axle would be fine. It’s a fairly easy replacement, while it’s apart I would recommend that you replace the axle bearing seals etc.
