Hey Guys,
Check it out!
Sid DOES have a running roadster. Even made it to a local car show.
Guess we can understand why we have not seen pictures before.
I think the description is "beyond patina"
  :(

The car has a neat back story. According to the widow who sold me the car, the 43,xxx miles on it are original to the car. It lived a HARD life.

It's a Datsun. Looks like a barn find where you put in fresh gas and a new battery and drove it straight to the car show.
I love the look. Authentic for sure...and 43K miles? Thats amazing. Great find Sid.

Way to go Sid! That's the best way to spread the word about our cars...drive them!
Is there a build thread I missed? What #SRL?

No build thread, it's SRL number 237. I can do a write up later.

Great story. Did it really take almost 7 years to get it back on the road?

Because of work and family obligations, yes.

The journey is often as important as the destination.

Those who know me, know that I spend a ridiculous amount of time on the road. I got home on Friday night, on Saturday morning, I had to get up early and drive down for some annual training for the Hunter Safety group on Saturday morning. I rushed home and we had a dinner date with some wonderful neighbors. So this morning, the dog woke me up at 6:30 like he usually does. I was beat and not feeling really well. At around noon I went out to do some stuff to the Roadster. I replaced the headlights with halogen bulbs, I finished up the installation of the relay harness to take the load off of the old wiring, I wired up the fog lamps - need to replace a bulb on one. I replaced all of the dash lights with LEDs and found out that the rheostat was not happy about that, so I bypassed it. Then my neighbor came over and helped me swap out the choke cable. A lot of stuff done. Oh I pulled out the emergency flasher switch as it needs to be gone through. I saw the rains coming so I buttoned things up and cut the grass. I got it done just before the rain. Tonight I get to pack for the trip tomorrow. At least I got some work done on the car. Very few bits needing to be addressed at this point. Oh, and the wipers are working too, so that is a good thing. I just need to remember where I put the arms...
