I believe from looking through the wiki that this part is the gauge voltage regulator on my 67.5 1600. I have several gauges that are a bit wonky. The oil pressure gauge needle only appears when the ignition switch is in the start position and then disappears once the switch returns to the run position. Also the temp gauge works but pegs to the high side after the engine reaches operating temp. A thermal reading shows the temp at normal operating temperature. Could these symptoms be a bad voltage regulator switch and how do i test the switch.

How does your fuel gauge read? No experience with a 67.5, however, on the 68+, that module (whose internal bimetallic strip pulses an average of 7-9 volts) powers the multi-gauge fuel and temperature readings, while oil pressure reading is mechanical (small gauge oil line from base of distributor housing to back of gauge), and ammeter is direct reading of net system charge/(discharge).

Yes, that is the voltage regulator for the gauges. Often times, just cleaning up the grounding point will make a huge difference in performance.

If all else fails, you can replace the voltage regulator (VR) with a buck-boost converter ($15 on Amazon). Just set it to 9V and wire it in (in place of the VR) - That should tell you if the VR is toast. If it works, just leave it wired in and carry on.

If you want to get a replacement VR, I believe the only difference between ‘65 - ‘70 was the mounting bracket, so either type can work.
