early windshield frame questions

is there a difference between the 66 and 67 windshield frames? A 66 that I am trying to get back on the road has a completely crusty windshield frame and I’d like to get something a little more presentable. Are the 66 and 67s interchangeable? I’ve ordered new glass after breaking the original one when removing it and I’m now looking for a frame. Have a lead on a 67 just need to know if it will work. also if anybody has a decent 66 frame let me know

It's the same if a true 1967 frame and not a 1967.5 frame. Even then a 1967.5 frame would work but it won't be chromed on the inside, but you gain Sun Visor brackets.

so the only difference in the 67.5 is cosmetic? thanks that is not an issue for me.

Yes, 67.5 fits 66 and the opposite. The only difference is the visor addition and the silver paint on the later version. Top clasps are different too, but either can be used depending.
