Hello Everyone,

Here is the outline for this year’s events.

First, thanks to Dave and Ed for managing the T-shirts again. Be sure to send your T-shirt preferences to Dave Brisco @daveandlindab@verizon.net (size and style: Men's T shirts, light blue, and Women's V-neck shirt in pink)

Venue: We have the Pavilion in Watkins Glen State Park after a few years hiatus for our dinner Saturday evening. This includes parking in the State Park all day Saturday

Food: We are planning on having typical BBQ fare with pulled pork sandwiches, various cold salads (pasta, greens, etc.), cornbread, baked beans etc. For those who don’t enjoy pulled pork, we will have pasta with meatballs in tomato sauce. Dinner cost is still being determined but plan on about $30 which includes the parking in the State Park.

Dinner will be at the State Park Pavilion around 6:00 pm. Get there early and bring your own bottle(s) to drink including water, soda, beer, wine, etc.

The event schedule:

 Meet and Greet Thursday Evening September 8th at the Scale House brewery Menu www.scalehousebrews.com. Craft beers, gourmet pizza, salads and paninis.

 Grand Prix festival in Watkins Glen on Friday September 9th Grand Prix Festival. There are no planned roadster events except for seeing one and other in town enjoying the festivities. https://watkinsglen.com/grandprix-festival/

 Show-n-Shine Saturday morning September 10th at Lakewood Winery www.lakewoodvineyards.com which is just a few miles north of Watkins Glen on Rt 14 at 10:00 AM.

 Some of us like to go to Watkins Glen racetrack for the vintage races on Saturday afternoon, others are welcome to participate in a fun run around the area with the usual picnic at the end. This year we are thinking of ending the run with a lap around the old track and then up to the Pavilion and having the picnic there. Bring your own bottle and picnic fare to share. After the picnic you are welcome to hike in the park, leave to do other things or just hang out until dinner around 6:00 pm.

 We will have the free raffle table again. Bring some of your overstocked roadster stuff (parts, books, clothing, memorabilia or anything non-roadster related that people would enjoy. The number of tickets given out will be based on the number of items in the raffle

The most important part of this message is to get a count for dinner so we can buy the supplies and determine the cost. Please respond to me at anotherjoe2000@yahoo.com with the number of people attending the dinner in your party. I have received that info from some of you already!

Lastly, don’t forget to respond to Dave Brisco (daveandlindab@verizon.net) with your T-shirt order. Please respond no later than this Sunday evening August 7th

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

I didn't take many photos. There are a few on Facebook if you have it. It was a good time, but we need to increase the number of Roadsters there! I only counted a dozen cars. None were on tours of the old course that I saw - I could have missed them.

Hey Mike,

We had a fairly low attendance this year as SPL310 said. Some roadster owners drove their modern cars. Only about 7 cars on the fun run which was a run to the Glenora waterfalls and then a lap of the old track but we are competing with the vintage races at Watkins Glen International. The picnic was sparsely attended too, but we had a good crowd at the dinner with a new NJ roadster and a 510 joining after seeing the cars parked in the state park.

Food, wine and smiles were plentiful!

Jenna brought her 72 240Z which was mine at one time. She graciously allowed me to drive it, so I did a lap of the old track. Was like being with an old friend... love that car!

Many thanks to Joe & Holly, Ed, Dave, Suzanne and many others who lent a hand in helping it all come together. It's a fast 3 days and a lot of fun roadster time. The weather was beautiful all three days with rain on Sunday. (See Mike Unger's race post).

We missed you guys this year

We look forward to going to the Glen every year and are really bummed out about not being to make it this year, especially now that the border is open again. (sort of) We'll definitely be there for 2023.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for keeping things going. I'm a long time fan of the Finger Lakes, been going there every year since '77. Just a couple miles South of you apparently. :) I finally found my roadster this year and am working hard to get it ready for the 9 hr drive to get it up there next year. I can't think of a more beautiful place to let these cars stretch their legs. Love the area and love these cars. Can't wait to get them together again with others suffering from the same affliction. See you in 2023!
