Mysterious rubber fitting above windshield

Hey folks,

I am hoping someone might know where I can find the rubber trim / gasket piece that runs across the front of the metal lip that spans across the top of the windshield frame? My car is a 1968 2000 and the P.O. seems to have hacked up the plastic trim that is apparently supposed to be covered by a rubber trim / gasket fitting.

Any help would be appreciated, even it there's an alternative part that can be used, as it would look a heck of a lot better than the raw edge.
