Mystery oil pipe

I should know what this oil piping is for, but I don't remember and cannot determine from online manuals or Scheeler's book.

These are probably from two different R16 engines. Picture distorts a little, but bends are almost identical:

I believe one end connects here (right rear of R16 block):

Where does the other end go?
