What are the correct tail light combination for our ladies? I see for 63-67 has two (2) options
1; - 2 with 3-wire (red) 2) 2 with 2 wire(red)

2; 2) 3-wire (red) and 2) 2-wire amber

For US market cars, all were red. You can put amber lenses in as they are available and look neat.

Top or bottom "amber"
I am assuming the amber would be top and turn / break or just turn?

Well, the turn signals were originally on the top, so that would mean amber on the top. That being said, I am an advocate of putting the brake lights on top and the turn signals on the bottom to increase visibility. Those that know me as a purist are shuddering in disbelief, but I do bow to changes for safety.

I was thinking going all red and with the 70+ all break, running, signaling?
Daughter has 66 which was red one turn / signal I believe

Yes, the later cars should be all red due to the way that the wiring has changed.

You're welcome. The wheels aren't painted body color. What more are you thinking about? I see in your signature that you are looking for a 67 2000. Any luck?

Paint is the dash car color?, behind grill I'm assuming black?

Behind the grill was brush painted satin black. The dash in a 3 seat 1500 was body color. 2 seat 1500s, and 65-67 1600s were a wrinkle gray, 67.5 was a wrinkle black. The cowl under the windshield and the front edge of the dash also got the black brush painting

Sid's correct as usual, but I'll just add a bit of clarification on the brush-painted satin black... that was hand-painted AFTER and OVER the body color. So no need to mask under the windshield or behind the grill area.

I hope that makes sense.

And probably more than you wanted, but here are a couple of photos of the hand-brushed areas:

It does help
Great wisdom in this forum. I need to practice more getting around this using the laptop instead of my phone.
As always very appreciated

If going all red you can easily modify so that both are dual filament and offer better visibility
Left car is 67 and was modified to light like later cars

My 67.5 with amber turn signals for comparaison

When I redo the white car I plan to use all 4 as position/brake and modify the rear reflector as a turn signal

My '68 Roadster has amber for the small rear upper reflector (taillights are red). They appear to be original but I seem to only see red out in the world. Can someone pls explain when red or amber was used? Thanks

Here is what I have found or know about the rear lights.
67 and older have sockets with the rubber cover with two or three wires. You can easily change the wiring for 4 three wire boots. However most of the boots are old and broken.
68 to 70 have the twist in plastic socket with all being three wire.
69 and 70 are wired differently from the 68 in the way they work.

Because of the lack of good boots all mine have been changed to readily available twist in.

The frame has mounting holes for the reverse light on both sides. I added a third brake light to one side. Even down there it can seen since it is a very bright halogen.
