Intermitent Wiper Switch?

Post by Ralph »

I wonder if its possible to have the windshield wiper motor work intermittently using a different switch... any of the electrical magicians ever tackled that?

You need contacts built into the motor to time it stopping
Parking the correct place & hooked into the timer unit , but ya you could build just a timer it to run 3.5 sec

There are aftermarket add-on's available. I have one on the shelf somewhere.
Here is one I found with a quick search: https://www.revolutionelectronics.com/P ... ipers.html

What? I haven't even put wiper arms on my car yet. Drive in the rain, not happening.

It says you have to change the switch.

That would probably work on a high car since the switch is the same style. I have yet to find a 4 position toggle switch among the Lucas replacement switches. You could either put the later switch discreetly below the dash or add another toggle switch below the dash for the park function.

I'd have to get hold of the unit and play with it. I already played with the Honda wiper motor and got it to work.
