I mean it’s alright.

That’s if “alright” means gorgeous and extremely well done; then yea it’s alright!

More Progress

I finally got the cloth soft top installed onto the car-- still a little more adjustments left to do to get some of the last wrinkles out (our 30-degree days are not helping), but at least the test drives will be a little warmer now!

Careful Michael. With the top up, that’s a mighty tight fit under there.

December Drives

Its been raining here in Oregon-- a LOT. I have had to get out for some final test and tune drives, and the weather just has not cooperated-- today we started off cold and clear (in the mid-20s), but thankfully no rain. After taking care of a million little other jobs, I took the car out for about a 50-mile loop, and the SR sure loves the cold, crisp air... The winter light made for some nice photography opportunities...

Not much left to sort out now. I'll probably try to put about 500 miles on it just to shake it down a bit more before it goes up for sale... now the question will be put it on Bring A Trailer or not??

Incredible photo! If it isn't already sold privately, BaT is a great starting point for selling. The reach, exposure and market is hard to beat and Sting-Grey will do well!

More Small Details

Still had a few small details to sort out in the trunk area-- I want this car as complete as possible before it goes up for sale. Spare tires that fit over our big brake kit (but don't take up the entire trunk) can be hard to find, but I recently found the Infiniti G20 spare will fit over the brakes (with a small spacer) and fit into the trunk space well-- now I will buy every one of those I can find when I'm a the U-Pull-It... :)

The lug wrench was also reworked to work with the 3/4" lug nuts that are on the car-- the original had long since disappeared, so that was sent out for plating too.

The jack was refinished in the correct school-bus yellow, and snapped in place in its holder well too:

The spare is nice and compact, but I will probably find a small tire cover to really complete the installation, and keep things clean. The stock spare tire tie down clamp was a little short, so I reworked one to add some length, and sent it out to be plated and now things are looking good and function properly-- can't have a loose spare flying around when we're driving!

Inching ever closer to calling this done....

Looks amazing as always. This is an exceptionally beautiful car.
Thanks for the tip on the G20 spare. Installing my Spriso 300ZX kit now, so this is very timely info.

Just get a 3/8" spacer to put under it and it should clear a 26mm kit fine.

A lot of our cars use the aluminum Mazda RX-7 space saver spare, but they require a thicker spacer to fit and are not as good of a solution (but they look cool!):

That spare looks cool! What year rx7? I’ve given up on finding dori dori for a matching spare.
