Yokohama Adva Fleva

Post by Pjackb »

Just replaced the wheels tires on the SR20 car ,
because the car rides on Super Comp springs I wanted to run a slightly shorter tire than the stock 23.7" to keep a nice fender gap and clearance

my choices for size where 185/55 (23.01"), 195/55 (23.44) , 205/50 (23.01) , the 195/55 is the popular choice and would have worked fine but because the wheel are 15x6 i wanted to use a tire that sits more squarely on the rim so I opted for 185/55
there is not ton of choices in that size but Yokohama's Advan Fleva was available .

The Fleva is part of the Advan line of UHP and Max performance tire and direct replacement of the SDrive.

I've only put abot 250 miles on them of very spirited driving so far but I have to say I'm very impressed with this tires ,
turn in is crisp and the feedback is a clear and precise, it feel like it will take a lot of overdriving to reach the limit of these tires on the street. I like them much better that the Toyo Proxes 4 I had on the other car (which are being replaced by Firestone Indy 500)

Nice photography. Can you post a photo of the complete car bumper to bumper side view? I am in the search for wheels and tires and I like to see how the front and the back look. I really like the car's color choice BTW.

How's the performance of Advan Fleva on wet roads?

To be quite honest the chances of one of my roadsters to actually see wet roads are very slim and may happens only once or twice by seasons and even the. I don’t see myself driving hard enough in that case to be worried about wet performance of modern quality tires.

That being said I would use these without hesitation on my daily and most reviews give them average marks for wet performance

Thanks for replying. I just ordered Yokohama Advan Fleva's from 4wheelonline. Hope these tires will serve me well.

David,
They were 121$ online at Quattrotires.com for both 185/55 and 195/55 (up to 124$ now ) https://www.quattrotires.com/tires/adva ... v701/27661
I Ended up buying locally and paying 128$/each because they had them in stock in the size I wanted and cut me a deal on install. There was also a $70 mail in rebate from Yoko so my net price before taxes was only $113
Jacques

PS. Quattrotires is usually much cheaper thant 1010.tires and pricing is usually lower than US when xchange is factored in

I have never tried to run any Yokohama tires on my car before but I've heard a lot of good things about Fleva.

I’ve ran their AD08 and Avan sports on a few cars and was always happy,
there’s a few guys here that had the SDrives on their cars for years and were extremely happy , the Fleva is the direct replacement for the SDrive

I am having a devil of a time locating 15X6 alloy wheels. What brand are yours?
PLEASE DISREGARD. I would delete this post if I knew how :?
