Hey guys, the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival registration is now open. This years event is Oct 8, 9, and 10, although Friday the 8th is just a local tour and an evening dinner. Saturday and Sunday are the track days. Saturday is the autocross and car show as well as historic race cars on the track. Sunday is the day that you can get your street car on the track in one of 3 speed regulated groups (60, 80, or 100mph top speed.
As of this time there are 3 roadsters registered and another owner saying he is planning to come but has some hoops to jump through. I suspect he will make it as I think he has only missed one event. Shannon says his buddy may come too but it’s not confirmed.
Garnett Kansas is about 75 miles south of Kansas City, so an easy days drive for many members in this part of the country that usually have to drive two or three days to see other roadsters at an event. I know there are several in the Dallas area that could make it easy.
Here is a link to a lengthy thread from last year extolling the virtues of the event

Hope to see several new faces there!

I had blast last year in both autocross and on the track. This is now one of my annual events. I did the 80mph limit last year but may do both the 80 and 100 mph events this year.

The peeps in the midwest really enjoyed seeing the roadsters.

All loaded up and ready to head to LGGPR tomorrow. Check in and meet and greet dinner on Friday and then I’ll do the autocross Saturday morning before heading over to the car show in the afternoon. Hope I do better than I did at my first and only autocross 50 years ago which ended badly 🙁. Being young and dumb I only knew one speed…FLAT OUT… I managed to hit a curb on my first run and bent an axle on my Spitfire. Hopefully I’m a little wiser this time! My biggest fear is getting lost on the very tight course. Saw more than a few get lost last year. At least I don’t think my door will fly open like SOMEBODIES did last year😎
Sunday is the real fun…TRACK DAY!😁. Way more fun than than you think. Besides your two sessions you get to see a lot of cool vintage sports cars driving in anger.
Spectating is free, and I think they even take last minute registrations, so if you live reasonable close come on out and watch, or better yet participate!

Thanks for posting that Mannon. Maybe it will help push some of those who are on the fence about going next year😎. It was indeed a great weekend with good weather, at least until Mannon and Jim left. I had fun chasing Mannon in both my sessions, my Solex 2000 has nothing on his stroked 1600. Maybe you’ll find a little more power next year Jim, although no one ran away from any of us. Next year can’t get here soon enough!
