Overrider Gasket

Post by devauxmidwest »

Is there some kind of a gasket involved in mounting overriders on a rear bumper or is it metal on metal?

I received a set of stainless steel bumpers from Viet Nam that were ordered with overriders for the rear bumper. The bumpers arrived with a long piece of black rubber push on molding. I've left emails with the bumper company asking what the rubber molding is for and have not received any replies.

Thanks

I don't think there is a gasket involved.
There are none shown on the parts diagrams.
Nissanman, just trying to help.

There was no gasket. MGBs and such used the gasket, and I have seen it used on Roadsters. some like the look, some don't. The stuff that you have is cut to fit.

I used it on mine. I like the look of it. A friend urged me to make the interior red but I like the contrast of silver and black.

Looks good C.Costine. You may be happier with how the grill looks if you black out the grill support.

I've seen that stuff on the over riders before and liked it.

Thanks, yes, I know it is on the list. At the moment I am installing the rebuilt seats and finishing up some other interior work.
