Recently bought my first Datsun roadster (Had Triumphs prior to this). It's going to be a rolling restoration. Runs as is but needs a little love in the clutch and brake department.

Odd discovery, once I got the boot open I found 2 cases of new oil filters back there. Not sure why, so I'm stocked for filters for the next lifetime!

I also received enough extra parts to practically build another 1600 (Body panels, engine, transmission, interior bits).

Welcome to 311s! But Hurry!!!! there is not a moment to loose!! Most likely you will need new brake cylinders at $105.00 each, and this usually leads to new lines due to the water that the brake fluid sucks in. But there is a slight chance that if you bleed the water out today that they can be saved. I converted to silicone fluid because it doesn't absorb water and as a bonus it doesn't eat your paint. If you convert you need to bleed bleed bleed until you get all of the old fluid out.

I've been looking at the brake info. Trying to find good sources for all the parts at the moment. I'm hoping the cylinders just need new rubber bits but that's probably being way too hopeful!

I'm in Indiana.

Welcome and good luck with your project. I would get them re-sleeved by Karp's out of California. Karp's are a bit slow but you will never have to worry about the hydraulics ever again.

I actually have 2 of those in my boxes of parts! Once I get a handle on what can be salvaged and what I'm replacing I'll probably be having a fire sale on the extra bits.
