June 10 & 11 '06 Datsun Driving CANBY Fun

Post by spriso »

DatsunsNW, a newly formed Datsun enthusiast group in Portland, Oregon is putting on their second annual All Datsun Meet in Canby, Oregon (just south of Portland, Oregon) on June 10, 11th 2006.

It is never too early to start applying for your days off for this great event. There will be a cruise, swap meet, car show, and other fun events. There is camping on site, or many hotels for those coming from out of the area.

Last year's event drew over 150 classic Datsun and Nissan cars and trucks! We are shooting for over 200 to attend for 2006!

Bring out your roadster or other Datsun/Nissan and make some new friends, find that elusive part, or just spend time checking out the amazing rides, and friendly NW hospitality...

More details will be posted here as we get closer to the show!

See you then!

How does this compare "event" wise to Shasta?

Wondering if it's worth a flight... Definitely less time off work than Shasta...

The All Datsun Meet at Shasta is a 4-day orgy of all things Datsun, but there are several things that make Canby a real fun event:

Temperature-- Portland, Oregon in early June has a average temperature of 75-degrees.... much better than the 100+, brain scrambling temps of Shasta.

Location-- easy to get to, especially if someone wants to fly in.

Cars-- lots of different cars that you would never see down at Shasta.

People-- Canby is close enough that quite a few of the Canadian members bring their rides down, and they are a both a fun group of people, and have some really neat cars, again which never make it to Shasta.

We will hit 200+ cars this year.... the group organizing this event has a lot of energy, and we are going to make this a very big show!

So, yes, it would be worth the flight out...

John - Remember, wifes aren't here to tell us what to do, just to make fun of us for doing the goofy things we do...

Alvin - We could fly and borrow one of the Spriso cars. I am sure Michael will need help getting all of his cars to the show! What do you say, Michael?
