I had them on the wrong side to begin with but switching them they were still too narrow. The triangular piece they put in for the step is not big enough and does not make the 90 degree bends. It just goes down at an angle to the lower floor section. The front and trunk pieces fit well and I think the front of the shelf did too. I'm going to try and see if it will stretch out a bit. If so then it may be all right.

Edit: I tried to stretch it and no go. The front part is okay. Just the part where it swoops up and both sides. Since it is both sides I don't believe it is a manufacturing mistake but a poor pattern.

My center piece was way more than enough to make up for any shortage on the floor if there was any.

Also you want to place your side panels before your carpet.

Yes, I can make up the difference but it still it is not going to sit in there correctly. The insert piece is simply not done right. I'm going to buy some carpet and make it correctly. I might also call Distinctive and gripe at them.

I do think the manufacturer should be made aware. Hopefully they'll fix it for future buyers... like me!

I have tried 3 times now to glue the rubber to the gas pedal using 3M #80 spray glue. This last time I sanded the powder coat and the rubber back in the hopes it would give it some tooth and stick better. Held it on with tape and no luck. Peeled off after 3 or 4 hours.

What makes it hold? Obviously a different adhesive than I am using.

Edit: My wife just suggested Gorilla Glue.

Went to put my wiper linkage back on the motor and I can't remember how it goes. Looks like a thin metal washer, the arm, another washer and then the arm with a lock washer and nut holding them on.

I've had the same issue with the Santoprene rubber trunk lid gasket. What adhesive have other people used for this, or recommend for use with Santoprene rubber, please ?

Please do NOT use Liquid Nails on painted surfaces! Guess how i know...give ya three guesses and the first two dont have to count! Im sure some will say it worked fine, but it doesnt!

Maybe on the powder coated surfaces as powder coat is far more chemically resistant than paint, but LN on paint...please no!!

I dont know about spray foam but I still woundnt. I use marine grade adhesives. Designed for the outdoors and you can find ones that are gel coat and clear coat friendly.

Steele Rubber products sells the glue. That is all they do is manufacture rubber trim and weather strip. Their stuff works.

Don't use almost anything harsh on recent painted surfaces, dumb gum may work too, but I have used the above for ? Decades on door panels carpet holding no probs

A search on here does not turn up good photos of seats for 66-67 and not many on an internet search. So if you have original vinyl in good shape or replica vinyl correctly installed please post some photos for me. I would like to see the whole seat and side shot. The more the better. Thanks.

I’ve been following this post and am ready to put down my vinyl. I’ve having trouble deciding which precut pieces go where. I got the interior kit Dean sells and other than the obvious ones for the rear inner fender it comes with 6 other pieces of vinyl (3 pairs of 2) I know one is needed vertically at the back of the door opening and then another along the bottom of the door opening not sure where the third piece goes. Picture attached Which pieces are for what areas?
