I found one piece of remaining vinyl for the back of the door. Looks to have been cut out at the top. I can only guess that the others were torn up or I tossed them mistakenly. I think the bottom of the door had carpet.

Pjack, were you going to coat the raw floor boards prior to installing the Dynamat? I don't think I'd rely on the soundproofing for rust protection.

I find the concerns about weight amusing as well. Most of us could probably drop a few lbs, and then install the soundproofing.

Yes floors are getting coated prior to soundproofing,
I received the material today I have enough to do about 55sq/ft and I would estimate it weighs less than 25lbs

Curtis I kept all the pieces I removed from my car and will use them as patterns to cut new ones I can send you pictures but I’m not clear on your questions

Are you looking for where the pieces go? I didn’t take many pictures since it was so straightforward and evident

Yes, bottom of door has vinyl. What I want to see is how it intersects or is covered by the vertical pieces at the front and back. I laid out my pieces and have the bulk of it solved.

The arc of the seam on the reproduction wheel pieces does not match the original. So it will be make it look as good as possible. It's that or by some of the same vinyl and sew some that do. Someone should tell Distinctive. I know bloody well that they had to be all sewn from a pattern.

Another photo request for a 66-67 although it seems the later cars are the same. The 3 boot snaps along the door edge please.

Edit: never mind, I flund a photo of them on here in an old post. The spacing seems to differ from car to car. Two closer or evenly spaced.

Okay, I'm looking at the back side.

I made templates for the sidewall vinyl under the dash. I put on clips to hold the relay box on the left side so I had to cut slots for them. I'll put them on this weekend since I have wiring stuff to take care of now. I will wear an N95 mask this time, the 3M 80 adhesive gives me a headache.

Checking the fit of the carpet for the rear of the floor. I am not impressed. This is the carpet from Distinctive Industries that I believe all the vendors sell. Way too much space on the side. I can extend some of the vinyl down to cover it. Guess I'll have to scab on some vinyl at the back to cover the floor. Doesn't even really get to the outer seat belt hole. I can't shove it over because of the step up.

Ouch! I was going to order carpet and seat kits tomorrow! Maybe I will hold off? Have other people had same issues, or will manufacture blame it on the 'Rona?

I had them on the wrong side to begin with but switching them they were still too narrow. The triangular piece they put in for the step is not big enough and does not make the 90 degree bends. It just goes down at an angle to the lower floor section. The front and trunk pieces fit well and I think the front of the shelf did too. I'm going to try and see if it will stretch out a bit. If so then it may be all right.

Edit: I tried to stretch it and no go. The front part is okay. Just the part where it swoops up and both sides. Since it is both sides I don't believe it is a manufacturing mistake but a poor pattern.
