As far as tie downs, you’ll be able to get straps around the rear axle and the trailer will have tire harnesses for the front.

Oh, and one trick that I heard of was to, once on the trailer, partially deflate the tires.
Then strap it on, then re-inflate the tires and it puts last bit of tension on the straps.

May be helpful for someone later on, I found a local place in Houston that rents box trailers primarily for motorcycle transport, but it's a 7x14 ft trailer with d-ring tie-downs. Worked great for a 2200 mile trip. I wanted an enclosed trailer since the car was in an unknown number of pieces, had enough room for engine/transmission up in the front

Great tip… I’ll give that a try. Just reserved trailer and will be picking up the car Sunday.

Looks like U-Haul has 3 different size auto trailers(not including the dolly) that are different lengths and widths.
Just need to make sure to get the smallest so the gap in the deck isn’t too wide.

They should tell you...it needs a heavy tongue weight, a light one is dangerous like if the load isn't load bindered down
I was the #6 man at U haul ( for spending the company's $ ) that car will be Airborne at times on the right bumps , figure it in

I also used a box truck from the "Yellow" Company. I made my own wooden ramps to get it in and out. Never once moved inside the truck, and I drove it from NC to WI. Believe me, I was hyper careful and defensive driving - there was only a small wall of fiberglass separating the car from going through the cab! Oh to be young and (that) dumb again.... :-)

wow, that car hauler is in great shape! Any time I rent one it looks like it came from a war zone with bent aluminum and scuffs everywhere.

I was able to use the U-Haul tow dolly to get my old car back, no drama, just a tight fit.
