Hello from Oregon

Post by JollyGQ »

Just finished helping my neighbor rewire his headlights to run off relays and am now searching for my own roadster. The Fairlady has been a dream car since I was young and now it's finally time to try to make that dream come true. I'm hoping to find one that has a good drive train and fair body and good floor pans since I have no welding equipment. I'm looking forward to learning more about these wonderful machines and keeping my fingers crossed for finding my own. Thanks to the admin for letting me join. My skills are electrical (not formally trained), intermediate mechanical and manufacturing (wood and automotive). Ill do my best to help contribute what I can to this forum. Have a great holiday!

My suggestion is to not be afraid of welding. I have never had any training but I picked up a Lincoln 110 twenty years before I tore into my roadster, simply because I needed to get stuff done.

Welcome. Never can have too many electrical people LOL. Thx for offering to contribute and hopefully members can alert you if there is a Roadster for sale. Check Craigslist of course as well as Ebay etc.

Trini, I am on the coast by Seaside. I love it here!

Also, I just picked up my first roadster on Saturday. Almost 1000 miles round trip to get it, but it was worth it. 1970 1600, both tops, solid runner, tranny leak that I need to resolve and some funky wiring done by someone that I need to replace. Bummer I got it right at the end of sun season here on the coast, but ill still work on it when I can. No garage so it'll be slow going.

Hello,

I'm on the Coast as well but about 6 hours south in North Bend. Had mine for over a year now but still not running right or really road worthy.

Usually make a trip up there for some Army Reserve Training but looks like we will be at JBLM this year. If I get running and we head back up there I'll link up...probably next October.

If you are ever on down this way hit me up. I assume this will e-mail me if I have a message.
