I've been on this list for a couple years or so but never got around to introducing myself. I've been on the autox list since the early/mid 90's when I got my first roadster.

I have 2 67.5 1600's that have been off the road for about 16 years. They are now in the process of becoming one roadster which I hope to get back on the road this year. I was originally shooting for September but that ain't gonna happen.

My main area of expertise is electrical but can work on most anything except body & paint. I've been involved with electronics & electrical - including vehicles - since the 60's. Know my way around quite a bit.

I consider myself enough of a mechanic to get things done, but I am in no way a professional.

I am retired from the University of Texas where I was an electronics tech doing engineering work for 30 years.

I live in central Texas, about 30 minutes South of Austin near Lockhart, the BBQ Capital of Texas. I have a shop if anyone is on the road & needs some place to work on their vehicle. Car Hauler flatbed trailer also.

Once this Covid stuff is better I'll be available for a get together for beer or food. Preferably in that order.

I grew up in Los Angeles County until I left for the Air Force in 1965. They dropped me in Austin Tx. in 1972.

I hope to get to meet up with folks when I start traveling with my roadster as I see more of the U.S. Driving Rt. 66 is on my bucket list as is Rt. Driving up the west coast is also on my list.

Welcome, Pat. I know you have answered many electrical questions on the Autox list. Never too many electrical guys for our Roadsters!.
Hope you find the encouragement and motivation to get your Roadster going. A few pics would be great.
After Covid, a Texas-style BBQ would be neat for the Texas owners..

Pat:

I'm on your way to Cali on rt66 in Albuquerque.
Get it touch when you hit the road.
Hopefully you can tolerate a retired Navy guy!

Shannon, we should fit well. Looks like an Irish name to me, I’m 80% Irish.

Peace,
Pat

I have 2 67.5's that I combined to get one good body.

Starting point for restoration. Been off the road for 16 years. Paint done in 1985. Bought it in 1990 from a body shop owner. Floors rusted out. LOTS of bondo but a good ride. This became my parts donor.

Frame blasted & painted. New suspension including springs.

Body in primer

I hope to get it on the road by the end of the year.

Peace,
Pat

Hiya Pat. I remember autox way back when I bought my first roadster. And I recall your sign off of "Peace, Pat" Searched for autox when I got back into roadsters after retiring recently. Wound up here. Glad to hear from another old timer forum member. Once you start roaming, If you ever wanna keep heading south on hiway 1, Im about 800 miles south of the border in Loreto B.C.S. Mexico. All fellow Datsun owners are welcome to come fishing and have a few beers or margaritas. We are all familiar with the reactions that our cars get when taken out for a drive. Multiply that by ten here. Im only aware of one other roadster in all of Baja.

Greetings Pat. Welcome to the 'family' forum for our toys. I'm a bit late to the welcome chorus, but wanted very much to greet a fellow USAF retired member.
May I also add a quiet shout out to GoldHawg as well. WPAFB has been my first (1980) and last stations (2004).
