Thanks
In fairness I knew what it needed when I bought the car and took those costs into account when I bought it, so just booked it in to the trimmers so it could go there direct from southampton. (helps that he is a mate of course)
The chrome parts unbolt easy enough and the chroming time is about the same as UK registration so sorting it all immeadiately is pretty logical really .
However i am getting exicted about finishing it .

Hubcaps came out great, just make sure you don't loose any, as stupidly difficult to replace originals. As I know of someone who went of a drive, and when they stopped, one wasn't there...

Have you considered upgrading the sway bar to an OEM upgraded one? That car looks great though in that shade of red.

BTW how tall are you and how tight is it inside the car?

If they are avaialble and not stupi money thats exactly the type of upgrade I will be looking to do - Improve but keep looking stock.
The front calipers need work so I will get the bodies sleeved in stainless and new pistons and seals . A brake upgrade isnt really needed - the front brakes are almost identical to an e type series 1 or aston of the same year !
The motor is the trickiest . I amm speaking to a few people who know way more about these engines so no decision on power until I have all the options.
It will be using a dastun period 4 cylinser motor for sure though.

I am wondering if you're done with this build since it's been months since the last update.

m not sure it will ever be "finished" but yes car is all back together and legally driveable on the road .
Engine bay is now the same colour ,
Exhaust taken off manifold repaired and refinished .
Exhaust fitted properl using the right clamps now doesnt leak .
Carbs have been refurbed and I have a float on order as it had a pinhole
Got the washer working with a period switch
All chrome bits bolted on ,
New suspension and arb on.
brakes have been completely refurbished at the frontdone but I had trouble bleeding the rears so that is currently being done using a ramp with a proper pressure bleeder.
I have driven her around the block but no more as the brakes are not 100%
i would post some pics but the uploading seems out tghe arc (sorry admin
I will try again later

Glad to see work has progressed, look forward to seeing her whenever we are allowed. You are making more progress than I am.

2mAn, they are small inside, as only designed for the Japanese market, they were modelled on a 5' 6" person. So, a little bit taller would probably be ok, the seat could be repositioned back a little. Luckily I am the modelled height for my CSP.

I have never seen this model before. Was ever imported into the States or only available in Japan?

It has some similar design lines as the late Toyota Celica sort of ...
Fantastic looking car. What is the drive train composed of ? A 4 cyl or a tricked out 6 cyl of the day ?

There are a few CSO Silvias in the states but I think the number would be in single figures or thereabouts

The mechanics are pretty similar to a datsun roadster - Mine has an early R16 so thats an oversquare 1600cc twin carb with 4 speed manual gerabox

So the CSP 311 has the same drivetrain as the SPL311.

IMHO the body has a number of design cues of the day. The front grill and bumper are similar the Opel Manta,. the windshield -roof line to that of a '67 Vette. with a little look of the Buick Riviera on a Corvair tubbed belt line.

It's has a unique look and the sporty Red is great.
