One more day in the booth..

This morning, tape reset underway, changing over to the next set of masks..

As the tape work finished up, time to mix the color. Since we did not even need a quart, mixed it off the color wall..

Color going on..

And laying out flat..

Clear shot on the blue..

.

And unpeeled, still needs pinstriping, but we have the base, the Dave McDowell EP car..

It will cook in the booth overnight, since it's kinda hot here right now, then tomorrow we should be ready for striping..

So I ran down to pick up the car from paint. It was outside, enjoying the sun.

Loaded it up and brought it back to Ron. He said to stick around, it would not take too long. Truly amazing to watch him make lines just appear..

He was right, he was finished before lunch, so I loaded up and brought the car out to Kevin's. We are ready to reassemble.

This afternoon, we rolled the car out of the trailer, to start reassembly. First step, get it off the paint cart...

.

We stripped the front end to make assembly easier. First part on, the sway bar..

.

Left front on..

.

Front suspensions on and attached.

.

Rear axle located, connected, and down..

.

Looked outside, and said we gotta throw the steering shaft in. So we can roll it outside..

Time to put it away for the night...

.

Next, to make it a car..

So we had built the chassis. But there is a lot more to the car. Kevin and I got to work turning it into a car.. First, the body came off to make assembly easier.

Electrics going in to the passenger footwell..

.

Engine bay paneling going in, oil cooler mounted, electrics on the firewall..

.

Behind the dash.. Steering, brake and clutch masters, dash wiring..
Screenshot_20190906-004849_Gallery.jpg
.

Seat in, fire bottle in, in cabin oiling system in the car..
Screenshot_20190906-004916_Gallery.jpg
.

Dashboard in, hooked up.. fire system hooked up..
Screenshot_20190906-004901_Gallery.jpg
.

Next up is to install the drivetrain, hook up and bleed the brakes, and check the suspension settings.

Hoping to have the car ready to drive next weekend..
