I should note that Jeff is making some changes to his design to make the installation a bit easier.

Also note that my ididit steering column makes it much easier to remove the steering shaft to give me more room.

I'm hoping to get even better numbers when tuned for E85.

Shannon, that's a really good improvement, you should be quite happy with that. Appreciate that you share the install and removal struggles for future owners.

I have a zoom session scheduled for Saturday night 7 pm EST to go over the header and install difficulties. Shannon will be on to share his experiences also. While this install is difficult, I think Shannon's is worst case and I'll share why. One particular reason is one of his tubes is further out and on his install initially contacted the frame. I currently have ~ half an inch clearance on my version, and will be building another part of the jig to ensure that tube placement does not happen again (happened during the finish welding, as each tube must be removed and added individually to the collector). But if you plan on that level of difficulty, then you'll not be surprised. But this was optimized for performance with the following design goals:

1) Must fit. Would have been nice to fit easier, but it does.
2) Mandrel bent SS header with merge collector.
3) 24" of runner length to get torque improvements of a long tube header.
4) 1 5/8" runners for best performance
5) Use of only USA or Canadian 16 gauge 304 stainless steel materials.

If you want to know more details or talk about this, please PM me for the Zoom ID and I'd love to have you join us this Saturday, 31 Oct, 7 pm EST, 4pm PST. Won't take that long but I can more clearly show you the install on my Datsun, while pointing out the difficulties and answer any of your questions. I have confirmed that Crummy welding can do the finish welding, but my initial look at pricing shows pretty significant increases in materials prices (~20% for some of the bends and the collector) but I haven't put together a composite list to see if I can get any volume discounts.

I'm late to the party on this but if you looking for number 5 for a group buy I'd be interested to see the final cost. I'm at this point of my swap and to me this the only way to go. It's either this, try and build one my self, or hire a local fabricator to do this job.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't quite get several to commit. My window to do over Christmas has closed and I'm way behind on my own build. If anyone is interested in me doing this, the next opportunity would be next summer. If interested, PM me. Sorry.

No worries. I've got a local guy that should be able to handle it.

Thanks for all the write up and detailed pictures of the build process.

I've got plenty of the 3/8" SS flanges if you want them; shipped to you for $80. They leave space around the port for your 16 ga SS material; CAD designed and fiberlaser cut. PM if interested. I have another initial flange with stubs pre-welded from SS Headers if you like; PM me for details.

Sorry I'm a couple months behind on the group offer; if something materializes next summer, count me in. Received my SR20DE this past week and I'd like to consider the FWD manifold as the last option.

For those coming on now, make sure you read the key summary results--this install not for the faint of heart, and requires frame lip trimming among other things.

It is almost summer and I'm anxiously waiting for Rebello to finish my engine build so I can get back to the dyno and some shows.
