Hi fellow roadsters,
Just wanted to let you know that the Mt. Shasta Datsun Roadster Meet is being changed from July to September 19-21, 2019. The change is being made due to the extreme heat in July and participants suffering from heat stroke. Hope to see you all in September. See our website for additional info and updates. www.mtshastaroadsters.com

I’ve always wondered why all the west cost meets were in the middle of the summer. Not all that familiar with west coast weather, but have indications that July and August are not all that much better than it is here in Oklahoma! This is good news indeed, and if my health allows, I will try to make this one!

While it's been warm to hot, it's only the last 3-5 years where it's become stupid hot. No idea why.

Debbie and I were talking 2019 event planning this morning. Alvin mentions JCCS, but as a former school district employee, I'm wondering about an event that occurs near the beginning of the school year. Shouldn't affect most of us old and/or retired folks, but......

Guess we'll see.

Excellent! These dates should make those travelling >8hs a lot more comfortable! Expect more to attend particularly from the north.

I am in! :D

Bummer, I’m out. It would’ve been a heavy lift anyways, but the kids have school...

I've never been, but I get changing the dates to get better weather. Kind of a bummer that my son who travels with me on drives will be in school. Will have to see if that's going to.work out.

I totally forgot about kids and school as you guys mentioned! It's only 2 days out of the week, but I have no idea if I can pull them out this early.

Regarding the heat, I understand the organizer's concern. Combined with high elevation, it can affect everyone.

In 2005, Todd Osborn, Joe Kinstle and I(with my brother) drove up to Mt. Shasta from the show:

As I was snapping pictures like the one above, somebody shouted and I looked to see my brother collapse next the roadster. The heat, elevation, and hydration I think all contributed to this.

As nostalgic as I am, reminiscing about those sweltering road trips hiding behind the shade of semi-trucks on I-5, to seeing Keith and his ice-cream maker...I welcome a cooler climate. Of course, the weather could be just as warm in September as I too have noticed some wonky temps lately.
