Then I changed back old needles and after that it worked better and I could adjust mixture leaner. So I quess these new needlew were not correct even thought it read Roadster 2000 U20 on top of package. I bought these from our local carb shop so they might not know what they were selling as this is so rare engine here.

So now it works pretty decent. Still needs some adjustment but anyway now it looks like it might even work.
For some reason I couldnt get idle low enough and when I removed carb dog bone rpm dropped. So for some reason something in linkage was bend etc and dog bone was too long. I fixed it with adjustable linkage.

I also started to fabricate trim panels.

I noticed that my brake master cylinder is leaking. I could bleed my brakes and they are working so only problem is that it leaks fluid. Can I get those piston seals separately or do I need to buy whole refurbish kit? This is 3/4 mc.

http://www.datsunroadster.com has just the rubber parts for $69. No idea if they ship to Finland.

I took mc apart and it looked quite good. There are very small scratches on piston but those are so small that can barely feel with finger. So I would assume that all I need is new seals for piston. Hope I can get those somewhere.

For $100 more than just the rubber parts, you can get a new aftermarket setup here:

When I tore mine apart a few years ago I too thought it looked ok, but after installing the rebuild kit it sill wouldn’t hold pressure. It did however have over 100,000 miles on it. I would seriously consider Brian’s reproduction if the car had a lot of miles.

Didnt know about that repro. That would be good option as it doesnt need to be original for my build. However it would be much more expensive to get is here as it is 250$ shipped so after our taxes it is over 300. So tempted to try those new rubbers anyway.

What are you using for the hard panels, cardboard or something else ?
Also curious what type of vynil you ordered , I just started work on mine
I just started on mine and ordered sealskin smooth vinyl for the glued on and side panels trims and quilted diamond for the rear deck area

It is thin fiberboard. Got vinyl from our local store and used smooth everywhere.

How do I remove master cylinder inner piston? Outer piston was held in place by that screw but there is not one for inner piston.

It’s just stuck or corroded in place. Tap and impact the pushrod end of the cylinder on a block of wood (so no damage to the AL) and then look inside, the piston should start sliding towards the rod end.

You can also pour a little brake fluid in for lubrication (no petroleum products) and push the piston back/forth with a metal rod to free it up.

Also have been working with non Datsun related project. Honda CB750 cafe racer or something like that. Lets see which one can be driven first, Honda on Datsun.
