Anybody working on a Repop Lower Air Deflector? Aren't they all bent from curbs, ground hogs, etc?

Regards,
Steve

I'd be on for one. I know mine is bent, but from coyotes mostly.

Rallye still has some NOS ones.

I could make these pretty easily., You guys really want one? Plenty of air goes right through the grill at speed, and the scoop does nothing when stationary??? I used to throw them away since they are annoying when working below///

IMHO, if you make them, I would like to see the Oil Cooler air deflector also

So in your opinion the current airflow is adequate?

I would think so. Huge amounts of air come through that grill opening. Personally, I have never found a need for that deflector if the radiator is in good shape. IMHO

IIRC, someone made one from a snow shovel.

For me (not that I fully know), Nissan designed this part to be used in conjunction with the fan and the shroud, so it has a part to play. They knew what they were doing. If the roadster is anything like a Datsun Z, the area in front of the grille/bumper is a low pressure air area. (the Z has an deflector, and that helps with the cooling). The air deflector may have more of a job sorting the air-flow going under the car...

I think it is safe to say the intent was to direct air to the radiator, not for body air effects/aerodynamics. Also I’m quite sure massive amounts of air flow right through the grill-no doubt whatsoever.

My guess is someone in the colder climates has ZERO need for that scoop. If you drive long distances in the desert, maybe it could help you. One of the snowbirds might send you a scoop for free?? I typically throw them away/ there is no need for one in Ga., certain of that.

I have a Champion radiator in the SR20. It's pretty hot right now and I find no difference with or without the deflector.

Is the consensus that the air guide isn't necessary? My newly purchased '68 does not have one and I'm not sure if I need to hunt one down.

Thanks
