Can anyone tell me what the 4 larger spindle nuts are for? Lower Spindle? ... also does anyone have a nice 4th Spindle-nut, or can I just re-use the ones I have? Im hoping to piece together a full front end refresh for this upcoming winter, and not turn it into a 6 month job

Without running down to check I believe the larger nuts go on the bottom spindle. Had to buy a socket just for them.

HI gang, I recently had to remove both master cylinders and am at a point where I will be refilling and bleeding get the system soon. I see that people have mentioned using silicone based brake fluid, and I would like to hear more about that as well as what needs to be done to switch over if appropriate for our cars... anyone here with Experience? Thanks as always.

You have to clean ALL the lines, hoses and calipers first. Not good to have any mixing.

I finally replaced that always corroded tube that supplies water under the carbs to the heater. Can someone post a photo of the hose configuration at the radiator end? It seems obvious but I have been tricked by the obvious before.

Better to ask than say, "I shoudda asked".

Early grill

I was started cleaning up the backer to the grill. Is it really needed? It has to be obstructing air flow which we know is inadequate at low speeds. Is there any downside to just eliminating it?

You can eliminate it. The only downsides are locating one if you want to reinstall it and it will let bigger trash at your radiator.

Thanks, I have plenty of wall space to hang it on, and I will inspect the radiator regularly.

Noticed yesterday the car was running a bit hot at times. Checked the coolant today and put in between 1 and 2 quarts. What is normal coolant loss over time for these? I don't drive that much. Could be I did not get it topped off last year when I put in antifreeze.

Any pressurized system if operating properly will not loose any, However even a short overheat situation can cause it to push a little out.
