Knob/Handle

Can anyone help identify this Knob/Handle? It is NOS still in the original Datsun box but has no part number on the outside. I'm pretty sure that it's not for a roadster but it was in amongst the rest of my NOS parts.

The 'T' doesn't look like a roadster part, but it bears a strong resemblance to either (A) hood release or (B) internal vent open/close (left/right)
Is there a 'push button' on the other - some roadsters - though I have never seen one - had a headlight flash on the turn signal stalk.

Looks like a shift handle for an automatic transmission

Knob/Handle is approx 3" x2".
Shaft is threaded on the inside & there is also a small threaded hole on the back of the shaft for a set screw.
Seems way too small fit a shifter.
