Here is an update on new custom built FRONT Bilsteins for 66-70 Roadsters.
As with the custom rear shocks, these new front Bilsteins are completely rebuildable and revalvable.
-I've always liked Konis, but there are major downsides to them - these are a a better design, nitrogen pressurized, monotube, revalvable and rebuildable (without breaking the bank) and no hassle!
Here is the best part: A major downside to front Koni's is that you have to dis-assemble the front suspension if you want to adjust them or remove them. Not very practical- nobody ever does that since it is such a PIA.
These new Bisteins use a machined lower mount so after the initial install, these can be swapped WITHOUT taking apart the suspension! Takes a few minutes longer than changing a tire! and THREE different damping curves are on hand depending on your needs:
Improved Touring (a bit lighter than Konis on compression - similar rebound)
Koni (Koni on medium rebound adjustment)
AutoX (same compression as Koni, more rebound for more control in hard corners.
Shocks valved for Road racing are available by special order too.
Custom combinations are possible, if you want 20% more compression, 25% less rebound or whatever, LMK and we'll build a special set as you like.
Everything is a bolt on, completely reverse-able if you ever sell your car and want to keep these beauties. . There is no cooler setup. Those shown work great with stock or Mike Young springs.
For 2017' the shocks are 270 for the pair professionally revalved in any of the three combinations noted. The mounts are a one time purchase, and there are excellent advantages after that:
Do you want three sets with different valving for racing, street or autoX? No problem. (That would cost an absolute fortune with Koni's)
These can be changed without taking apart the suspension, which makes suspension tuning WAAAY more fun and practical!
I have all three response curves on hand - with Koni you are stuck other than semi-useful adjustable rebound, (most of the rebound settings are not very useful - too loose or too much) (Compression and other damping curve parameters are not adjustable on Koni's.)
You have to admit this is excellent: If these become popular enough, I'll have shocks that can be traded at minimal cost if you want to try different rebound and compression styles. ---- Koni would not be interested much in that!

I did miss that, but it raises the question, are the mounts included, and if not, how much are they?
