Proper sticker location and origntation?

Post by svwilbur »

I was getting ready to apply a few replacement reproduction stickers to various areas on under the hood.

Some of them I know where they belong as I took them off my 1970 2000:
- ID plate VIN (Passenger side, 4 holes)
- smog sticker (drivers side just to the left (looking from front) of were the hood bumper touches)
- paint code (passenger side, left of ID plate)

But these ones i am not total sure of the correct location/orientation:
- Washer tank sticker (I am guessing readable when viewing from the driver side fender?)
- Radiator sicker ( I am guessing just below the overflow pipe in center of radiator?)
- Overflow reservoir sticker (I have no idea. Maybe on driver side of fan shroud? Maybe somewhere on overflow bottle? Top? Side? Direction?)
- Air Filter Sticker (Not sure, maybe on drivers side cover of the air filter to left of the left, front-most drivers side wing bolt?)

Thanks for your help.

I think you have more stickers than I have.
The radiator is dead center right on top, over the overflow hose.
There is one on the heater box too.

interesting that the bottom white 2000 has the radiator sticker orientated with it readable if you look toward the front of the car. the top red 2000 has it 180 degrees turned around where you read it looking toward the firewall. I also have seen another datsun picture that had it turned 90 degrees and directly readable from the drivers side fender.

I wonder which orientation is correct?

actually I think the last one I mentioned might be correct.
Mike Young has it that way on this silver 67.5 2000

The top car is mine, the bottom car is one Mike brought to Solvang a couple of years ago. I'd bet on Mike's.

Here is two different pictures taken at different times of Mike Young's 2000. Hard to see in one, but there is a little of the radiator sticker showing on far left.

Although I did find that in the 311 sales literature the radiator sticker appears to be in the middle by the overflow and aligned horizontally in the same plane as with the radiator on the 1600. can not tell if it is readable looking toward the firewall or the bumper.

Due to the forward opening hood,I would think it would de readable from the firewall. No proof of that, just seems reasonable. Mike

Then I found this on a very correct looking 2000 with smog and all.

It seems to match Mike Young's sticker orientation.
