Nissan Silvia Racing Images

It is quite rare to find images of the Silvia race cars, but I dug these up this weekend-- enjoy!

According to Rumorpedia...
Production ceased in 1968 after a mere 554 were made (mainly in 1965), each one of them unique with body panels crafted by hand. Most of the vehicles remained in Japan; however, 49 examples were exported to Australia and another 10 went to other countries.
So I'd wager 10 or less were LHD?

Don't know why I missed this, I am a Silvia guy after all....

There were no LHD made, except a prototype, all production models were RHD. I think most of the export countries the Silvia's went to were driving on the left.

The Silvia had a good run at racing back in its native Japan, see my website for a few more images and what race results I have found.

Pretty cool, love vintage pics, not just for the topic of the image but for other things like advertising, social norms, etc. Noted the left hand side air intake, assumed to help the carbs? Wonder if they ran a complete airbox.

You can see why I love them! As the Silvia is basically a coupe version of the roadster in its production form (it was based on the SP310 after-all), there a lot of parts from the early roadsters, and a few from the Bluebird 410/411's.

They look like they are extremely rare though!... and that means they are going to be expensive

the back end of this kind reminds me of the "brat" that little truck with bed seats installed too . I haven't thought about those trucks in years . and I didn't know these cars existed.
"Is it me, or does everyone want to race ?"
