16X7 +11 PANASPORTS ON STOCK SUSPENSION

Post by SERE Nate »

I need to know fairly quickly if 16x7 +11 panasports will work on my 67.5 1600. Suspension is stock. Plan on doing the 300zx brakes, and rx7 rear end as well in preparation of a SR20de swap eventually.

i think you can have the RX7 diff narrowed to any width you want.

Starting from 'every car is different'...

That is about the right offset for a 16x7..

My 15x7 +20s with 205/55 tires rub outside rear wells on hard turns. Suspension is stock. I will go to 195/55 in the future. Just sayin.

I've known some to loosen up the body to frame bolts and move the body a bit.
These bodies aren't precision mounted and can sometimes rub on one side. But they can be shifted over slightly.

Sometimes rolling the lips of the fenders is needed.

Roman,

I did shift the body 3/16" to put the centerline of the wheel on the centerline of well.
The rub is just slight and high up in the well, not the lip. I don't want to disturb my fender lines so I will probably re-arch the springs and if that doesn't cure the rub, coil overs will eliminate the roll. Overkill and hard on the ass though.

I picked up the 16x7 Panasports and just ordered some Dunlop Direzza DZ102 195/50/16 tires. Should have them here on Tuesday.

Sweet! I ran those same exact tires up front:

Jason also ran that size at all 4 corners on his '68 SRL:

I think the 50-series sidewall looks awesome, but keep in mind that it's also relatively tall in overall diameter.

The wheels on Jason's roadster were also 16x7 Panasport wheels with a +11 offset...
