I made all the body pads out of this material.
Thoughts on using this for the gas tank strap padding replacing the orig. Horse hair? Possibly too thick effecting strap reach? I see they make 1/4 inch as well.

I used this type for the straps and cut to fit. Worked great.

FYI: The original post was from 2015 and, unfortunately, the original poster doesn't appear to be a member on this forum anymore.
FWIW, I made my frame pads using a yoga mat.
