I notice its listed as a 64? I see some details that say its not? I.e. battery under hood And trunk hinges are different.

Hope passenger and driver fared better than the car. A shame indeed.

Being a right hand drive, looks like the steering wheel and shaft went into the driver's head area? Could this have been prevented by swapping with a collapsable shaft from a later model?

from the earlier photo seems to be some windshield impact.

It looks like the intrusion was minimal because the impact was on the left side.

I hope everyone in this car fared well. It actually looks like the car held up considering the impact. Looks to have hit something pretty solid.

A collapsible column might have helped, also just adding a u-joint and kink in the stock column would have helped.

I don't know of the car or the fate of the driver etc.
I sincerely hope they are OK.

Quite a severe collision.

Yes I was wondering who too - needless to say one less car for nationals this year - hopefully not one less driver ... In relation to steering column though I think that was due to the car being stripped of some parts or dash etc so don't think it was a lethal issue !
