1. Yes, they press on to their respective shafts. I just used my fingers to ease them off.

2. to mount the clock movement to the original frame I used some scrap hard plastic tubing I had in my treasures drawer. I don't throw anything away
For the hour hand I used a tiny bit of brass tubing of the appropriate diameter from my local hobby shop. I found that if I used a tubing cutter, it crimped the diameter at the end of the tube just nicely for a press fit to the hour hand whilst the true diameter of the tube slipped over the clock movement plastic nice and snug

Bottom line, I just fiddled around with my bits and pieces and cobbled it all together till it looked right and worked

I am interested in the spacers as well. I ordered the clock and I have a 67 clock taken apart already. I was gonna gut an autometer clock. Just waiting on it to arrive.

I really like this conversion. If I modernize my gauges I will do this!

Pjackb: the clock has a twist off bezel, the only instrument that does.
All the others need to have the bezel carefully opened up because they are pressed over the case lip.
I had all the instrument restored professionally, that was their problem!

Six years or so ago I first saw this and now here I am. Thanks Nissanman, for the great instructions. Especially the one “installation” is the opposite of disassembly! (Just teasing there).

Clock is together and keeps time, unlike my other clock.
Still have some things to sort out, but have hands on and running and accurate. Many thanks.

Photos when finished.
