U-20 Camshaft Gear Heat Treated NEW PRODUCTION

Post by JT68 »

U-20 CAMSHAFT GEAR. 100% MADE IN USA - This is a new reproduction gear made from heat treated alloy steel. No China Parts!

All the features of the original gear are there so you can use the small dowel screw for stock cam timing if desired. You can also dial in an aftermarket cam (which will completely change the operating characteristics of your engine btw), by eliminating the dowel pin and adjusting cam timing using the slotted bolt holes.

New Hardened , CNC manufactured Part. The price is $140 each.

Thank you! JT

Could also be used with "offset bushing" with just a little work.......No need to "slot" the holes (hard part).

Well yes, one could start with a used or NOS $$$$$ gear and bore it for offset bushings, but there really is no point.

This is a brand new production gear machined by CNC. For a CNC mill, precision slots in an arc are trivial. Why fuss around with a collection of bushings?

If you want to run it stock, use the original dowel screw and the slots have no function.

This a very very versatile, brand new part made in USA. The benefit of adjustable cam timing is almost free. More cool parts in process....jt

BTW if anyone wants one non-slotted, I made a few that way too. Heat treated as well. Price is the same $140.

This, and a header like Lou's, may be what is needed to finally get the output i think I can from the might U! Thanks for making this, and with a very reasonable price.

I just want to thank you JT: I've been looking for an adjustable cam gear for years. I'll send you a PM.

Cheers

You guys are very welcome.

With the price of Roadsters going up by the day, restored or decent original cars really are a good investment.

From my perspective the U20 is still the best engine for ANY roadster...yeah I know SR's are faster, KA's and R's are cheaper, but the U20 especially running Solexes is just the "right" engine for these classic cars IMHO.

Save the U20!

More cool roadster parts in development.....Jim

Jim, same payment info as the other parts? Still loving my SS exhaust system and my Solex air cleaner. I'm down for one of your gears...and keeping my eye out for a license trim :)!
