1500 and early 1600 insulator

Post by richard »

Since I can't get any new 1500 insulators I decided to have them made again.
I've got the metal plates ready (water jet cut) and I will welt the studs in.
Then they go to the factory were they will make the rubber between the plates.
I have no price yet.
First want to get them ready.

Excellent!

I have not looked to confirm, but I think that the clocking is different between the two models.

Yes , you are right they are 90 degrees, so these are only for the 1500

If this works I could have made the other models (1600, 2000) to.

Yup, that is what I thought, but don't have any 1600 insulators here to confirm.

All studs welded in place.
Tested on the carb.
Now up to the factory who will finish them with the rubber component.

I never realized these took such a jump in price. I bought new ones for $30 about 8 years ago. Now they are $165 each new.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......
