How wide?

Hi guys,

Do you think a 15x7.5" + 21 would fit in the back of a 1970 2000 roadster with stock rear axle and comp springs?

The outside of the rim would be the same as a 15x7" +15 but the inside would be wider.

Splitting hairs Rob. The front retainig clip on the leaf stack may interfere with the tire sidewall. I have 15x7 + 18 on 185s with about .400" clearance to the clip. I don't know the dims of the monoleafs but that may get you another .200".
Split the .5" and add 3mm = .325"...oh so tight.
Depends ALOT on the tire.
You could hammer the clip flat against the spring stack and gain an additional .100".

I have seen race cars with part of spring ground away for more tire clearance. It was also necessary to take a sledge to the inter wheel well.
They can be made to fit...LOL.....

My calculations are your rim would have .1" more clearance between the tire and the fender and would be .6" closer to the wheel well and spring than my VTO 15 x 7 +12 rims

The tire selection is going to be very important. I had to Roll the inside of the fender (not the lip) to get my 205/50 x 15 to fit.

If you have to have those wheels, You might be able to grind a hole in the spring and move the clip to the front.

195/50 x 15 would be a better choice.

Thanks guys,

Great information from you both, I have seen this pair of rims come up for sale and wondered.

I guess I am better to wait for some 15x7" +15 to come up for sale.

I love your experience and that you share info readily.

Rob :)
