11+yr update!

I've logged over 72,000 miles on my S14 SR20DE drivetrain since 2003. ~6,000 miles were without driven without a speedometer/odometer (while we figured out how to run the VSS) :D

Maintenance:
I've done nothing but check/change the oil. Might even call it "deferred" maintenance :| Eventually it should get a tune-up(o.g. cap/plugs etc.) but for the most part it has been a remarkable get-in-and-go vehicle that has actually out-lasted several of my other cars!

Performance:
Still has similar power output almost a decade later. Here is a timeslip from last year at Fun Drags at Sears point (now called Sonoma Raceway):
Image
One of my better runs as I was stuck at 14.6/7 @97mph for along time. I know, it's not V6 Camry fast, but it's consistent!

MPG:
Fuel Economy:
Don't hate, I am a nerd and I do keep Excel spreadsheets for all of my cars
Here is a snapshot of when I was commuting and driving alot:
Image
Best: 40.33
Worst: 25.74
AVG: 33.8
open track-day: 17.2 mpg (Laguna Seca)

How about your engine swap, any reports?

2 years..

60k miles..

about 25 oil changes, mostly after really hard track days or long dirt road stretches..

I planned trips at 30mpg..

Still ran great when pulled, power was if anything better..

Congrats to both Alvin and Mike for logging all those miles on their SR powered roadsters-- very impressive indeed!

This summer we turned 20,000 miles on my S15 SR20DE powered roadster-- work, weather, and family commitments have not had me out in it as much as I would like, but it has been flawless. Highlight for this year was the 700+ mile 1-day road trip down to Shasta and back in July.

Love the car, love the swap, would never go back...

I will be venturing this path soon. Sourcing parts as we speak. I appreciate all the groundwork everyone has done.

While mine is not an SR20 and I have only a little over 30,000 mile on my FJ20 conversion, I would never go back either.

Congrats! 40 mpg must be a clean assed tune! I can't wait til my SR20det gets swapped in. I'll doubt ever seeing that type of mileage for fuel with a turbo car and a heavy right foot. Still a great combo.
