You "chase" threads by running a tap (or die) over the existing hardware. This cleans the threads of any rust/junk so that they fit as factory intended/new.
There are thread chasers specifically for this, or a good tap and die set should have what you need.

yeah didn't think u were speaking of a couch .lol .. thank u that cleared it up . I had to do that to a few things over the year .. now I have a name for it .

slip a 1/2 inch box end wrench over the cable and it will pop off.

use a hand drill to smooth the wires back down with the others .. cinch it where you'd put a bit , close it on the cable wires , but not as tight as u would a bit , spin in the direction of how the cable spins basically until it pops out all nice and redone . then small shrink wrap on the tip so it won't do it again , or small piece of tape . brand new cable you'll have afterwords

can you ask questions here , like how do you get those knobs on the dash ? is it a certain sequence, or special tool , certain tool , something someone made kinda tool, if anybody has a simple way to get those done? or how do I ask that question ? is that tools tricks and tips ? or "general " ? or is this only for telling of something , oh idk . ? help ?

PS only the knobs . the black things that go onto heater ,choke ,flashers ,break etc. not the metal male parts . the knob that goes into that ..

small screwdriver??

Sometimes handy to pull out and rotate, those things that can be pulled out and rotated. Since the default position of the screws tends to be at 6 o'clock, both rotating clockwise and perhaps using a magnetized screwdriver will facilitate reconnection.

rotating the unit . duh ! wow sometimes the simplest things you over look . I was trying to put this on first so I can get to this spot under it or whatever .I'd pull the knobs out to try to get to some , but my fan is upside down and no choke knob yet because I don't use it .. I guess putting them on Before you plug everything in with the wires is the ticket .. then I can rotate them like u said .. thank u very much !

got it ! pulled it out and that makes it allot easier thx again .

Trying to clamp my weatherstrip in place while glue sets.

Standard layout of clothes pegs doesn't provide much pressure.

Learned this from my model making days - top is normal, both 2nd and 3rd not only apply more pressure, but they are able to get tight into the edges.

This glue seems to be exceptionally effective.Coat both sides, wait an hour, leave for 24 hours.

there's supposed to be molding up there ? is that on top of windshield parallel to the ground spot ?
