Hi Arnold,
I'm no 1500 expert, but what is your definition of "fit"?
Here is 1500 with 13x5.5s with 175/70/13 tires:

Is the backspacing on a 1500 different than any other roadster? 4.00" is too much on a late car. 3.7" is safe on the rear.,,,,i think :smt017

I don't know the spec on a stock wheel.
Correct me if I'm wrong, and these aren't the actual numbers, but if, for example, you have a stock 4" wheel with 2 1/2" backspace and want to go wider and still clear the fenders, then the additional width of the 5.5" wheel with 4" backspace will put the outer lip in the same location, not changing the track width. Would probably need an alignment, as the centerline of the tire will be shifted inward.

Might be simpler to get 14" wheels, unless this is a great deal on the 13's

Thanks for the pictures Alvin.I am thinking they should fit.The 1500 cars are really tight in the rear fenders. The 4" backspace should but the extra wheel width to the inside.I have heard 14" wheels could rub on the front.
They were I think a good deal. Nine wheels all in good shape $450.00 The wider wheels I can use for spares for my flaired 510
5 -5.5 x13
2- 6 x 13
2- 7 x 13

I just put my wife's 1500 project on the ground with a set of 14x6 Watanabe wheels (with a 185 tire), and they poke out of the stock 1500 fenders-- looks like a 5" wheel is going to be a better fit. It is going to be interesting to figure out a wheel that will fit some larger brakes, be narrow enough for a white wall tire (what she wants), and look somewhat correct... I love challenges!

I will not be doing a brake up grade,so Im thinking these 13 x 5.5 wheels will fit with the 4" backspace.

Arnold they look fantastic! I like them much better than the Enkeis? I posted above
I think they will be fine on the 1500, just run the right tire(165 or 175) and I'm sure it will clear the rear fender
nice find!!!!

ps can we move this to wheel thread?
