What are these wheels?

Post by zippy67roadster »

My buddy Chucks66 bought a 67 1/2 1600 this week and these wheels are on it. We are stumped as to who made them and what they came from since we can find no markings. Anyone have a clue?

It had lock lugs on and Chuck finally was able to get them off without the key. :D

What size are they? May have to remove a tire and look on the inside. Is he going to keep them?

They are 14's but not sure what the width is yet. He just had tires put on them last night so I believe he is keeping them for the time being. They appear to be a 0 offset with the way they stick out a bit in the front.

Those kinda look like a set of Gotti wheels. I have a friend with a 510 that has a set of wheels similar to those.

If they had locks, they may have been $$$ way back when.

I think the gotti wheels were a 6 spoke. They look really close to the Focus Racing Speedster only the centers are different which i think were made by SSR. Also SSR had a couple sets that were close too. He mights just have some rare custom or prototype wheels

Here are some good resources for vintage wheels.

When I had the wheels off the car I looked for a maker or marking to who made them with no luck, but they are a 3 piece wheel with a aluminum spokes the are bolted to a steel wheel.

Anybody see Garm? He's been gone a while, I'm getting worried. If he doesn't come back, Ninja85's going to be pissed, he just sold him a a car.

lol, I see it's one of "those" forums now. Excellent. I thought they might be Hayashis, but my work partner is the GURU of wheels. I'm waiting on his reply.
